Every datacentre we use is renewable-powered - wind, solar, and hydropower, paired with energy-efficient hardware. We chose our partners specifically because of their renewable commitments, not despite them.
Beyond renewable-powered datacentres, Ecologi carbon offsetting and tree planting cover the rest for every customer. We commit 5% of every hosting fee to tree planting on your behalf - typically four or more trees per customer per month, at no additional cost to you.

Common questions from organisations with Umbraco 9 sites in production.
Yes. We host Umbraco 9 unchanged on .NET 5 under IIS on Windows Server, without imposing any upgrade deadline. The timing of an upgrade stays with you.
No. Microsoft ended support for .NET 5 in May 2022, so the runtime receives no further fixes. We mitigate this at the infrastructure layer with isolated application pools, a web application firewall, patched Windows servers and monitoring, and we advise clearly when an upgrade is the better option.
Umbraco Cloud ends hosting for Umbraco 9 on 24 February 2028; from then the sites no longer run there. Migrating to UmbHost beforehand keeps the site available. Read more on our Umbraco Cloud alternative page.
No. The migration is included: we transfer files, database and media, test the site together with you and support the DNS change.
Considerably simpler than from Umbraco 7 or 8. Umbraco 9 already runs on ASP.NET Core, so the move to Umbraco 10 and on to a current long-term support release is an in-place upgrade of packages and .NET version, plus resolving breaking changes. We can plan and deliver the upgrade and host the result on GreenStack.
