High availability is not a separate UmbHost product. It is a tier of GreenStack, our modern Umbraco platform, and two products deliver it:
GreenStack Pro spreads your site across two replicas in physically separate datacentres, with automatic failover and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. The right pick for business-critical Umbraco platforms that want HA without building custom infrastructure.
GreenStack Scale goes further: three or more replicas, dedicated nodes, custom failover configurations, and ten datacentre regions worldwide. Suited to high-traffic platforms, regulated industries, and sites with specific performance, redundancy or compliance requirements.
Both require Umbraco 17 or above, since load-balanced backoffice support arrived in v17 and HA architecture depends on it.
What "high availability" actually means here
Multi-datacentre replicas
Your site runs on at least two replicas in physically separate datacentres with Pro, three or more with Scale. If one fails, or we are maintaining it, the rest stay online and visitors notice nothing.
Automatic failover
No manual intervention, no DNS changes, no waiting on engineers. When a replica fails, traffic shifts to another immediately, and nobody on your operations team gets woken at 3am.
Zero-downtime deployments
Deploy during business hours without taking the site down. Updates roll through the replicas one at a time, so at least one is always serving live traffic.
99.9% uptime guarantee
Backed operationally by the multi-datacentre architecture above. Pro and Scale both carry the 99.9% guarantee as standard; it is not an upgrade or an add-on.
Dedicated nodes available
On GreenStack Scale your replicas can sit on dedicated hardware rather than shared infrastructure. No noisy neighbours, predictable performance, and resources you can configure where the site demands it.
Load-balanced Umbraco 17+ backoffice
Most generalist hosts cannot load-balance the Umbraco backoffice. We can, because Umbraco 17 introduced proper support for it and our platform implements it correctly. Editors keep a smooth experience even under heavy load.

Renewable Energy
Every datacentre we use runs on 100% renewable energy - wind, solar, and hydropower, paired with energy-efficient hardware. We chose our partners specifically because of their renewable commitments, not despite them.
Beyond renewable infrastructure, we also offset carbon for every customer through our partnership with Ecologi. We commit 5% of every hosting fee to tree planting on your behalf - typically four or more trees per customer per month, at no additional cost to you.
