We've been busy since our last feature update post earlier this month. This release focuses on giving you more control over your databases, better infrastructure flexibility behind the scenes, and a cleaner service dashboard.

Azure SQL Database Backups

You can now export your Azure SQL databases directly from UmbPanel as BACPAC files, no need to log into the Azure Portal or raise a support ticket.

Backups run in the background using Hangfire, so you can kick one off and come back to it later. A live progress indicator shows you how the export is going, and once it's complete you get a secure download link. We keep a rolling history of your last five backups per database, automatically cleaning up the oldest when a new one is created.

This was one of the features we flagged as "coming soon" last time, and we're pleased to have it shipped.

Multi-Server Infrastructure

Under the hood, we've made significant changes to how UmbPanel manages SQL servers and SFTP servers. Previously, these were single fixed configurations. Now, both SQL server pairs and SFTPGo servers are fully managed entities, each with their own encrypted credentials stored securely in the database.

This lays the groundwork for GreenStack Scale and dedicated setups, where your services run on their own isolated infrastructure. If you're an agency or business that needs dedicated SQL or SFTP servers, this is now fully supported, each hosting package can be assigned to specific server pairs tailored to your requirements.

Refreshed Service Dashboard

We've tidied up the service overview page to give you a better picture of everything available to you at a glance:

  • Hostnames and SFTP cards are now always visible on the dashboard, even before your Docker service has been deployed. The buttons are disabled until deployment is complete, so you know exactly what's available and what's coming.

  • MailGun and SMTP cards are now always shown too. If your package doesn't include email services yet, you'll see an upgrade button that takes you straight to a support ticket, no hunting around for how to add it.

  • Service Access Management is now available regardless of your Docker deployment status, so you can invite team members to your service at any point.

What's Next?

Historical Container Stats: 24-hour performance trends so you can review CPU, memory, network, and disk usage over time rather than just live data.

Umbraco Log Viewer: Browse and download your Umbraco log files directly from the Docker service management page, without needing to SSH in or raise a support ticket.

Billing System Overhaul: Progress continues on a complete overhaul of the billing system,

GreenStack and UmbPanel are actively developed, and we have plenty more planned. If there's a feature you'd like to see or something you think is missing, let us know, we'd love to hear your ideas.

If you're already on GreenStack, these features are live now. If you've been thinking about making the move, there's never been a better time.
