No. Renewable infrastructure, Ecologi carbon offsetting, and Green Web Foundation certification come standard on every UmbHost plan - from static hosting through enterprise dedicated infrastructure. There is no separate "green tier" you pay extra for.
The 5% of hosting fees we commit to Ecologi tree planting comes out of our margin, not yours.
Our datacentre partners publicly commit to 100% renewable energy supply, backed by contracts held directly with renewable generators or by certified guarantees of origin. The Green Web Foundation independently verifies us as a green hosting provider, auditing infrastructure against the renewable claims made for it.

Ecologi carbon offsetting runs through verified offset projects - primarily reforestation in regions with strong forestry governance, plus methane capture, renewable energy projects in developing markets, and verified carbon credits from Gold Standard, VCS, and other recognised certification schemes.
We commit 5% of every hosting fee to these offsets, calculated as roughly four or more trees per customer per month.
Web hosting takes an estimated 2% of global energy consumption, on a par with the entire aviation industry. Most generalist hosts commit to nothing on renewables, so the average website runs on whatever mix of fossil fuels, nuclear and renewables the local grid happens to carry.
A renewable-powered host won't make a site carbon-neutral on its own, but it strips out a measurable chunk of the operational footprint and backs the wider transition. For organisations reporting Scope 3 emissions, where you host is now a documented procurement decision.
