We've been putting Umbraco onto Microsoft Azure since the App Service platform's early days. You learn what works and what quietly gets expensive, what scales and what falls over, and where the cost savings usually sit in an Umbraco-on-Azure setup.
What we work with regularly: Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database in single and elastic pool flavours, Azure Storage, Azure Front Door, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Container Apps, and Resource Manager templates for repeatable deployments. For Umbraco itself, CDN configuration, media storage offloading and connection string management are standard.
