Every datacentre we use is renewable-powered - wind, solar, and hydropower, paired with energy-efficient hardware. We chose our partners specifically because of their renewable commitments, not despite them.
Beyond renewable-powered datacentres, Ecologi carbon offsetting and tree planting cover the rest for every customer. We commit 5% of every hosting fee to tree planting on your behalf - typically four or more trees per customer per month, at no additional cost to you.

The questions we hear most from teams still running Umbraco 8.
Yes. We host Umbraco 8 exactly as it is, on .NET Framework 4.7.2 and IIS, with no deadline to upgrade. You choose when, or whether, to move to a newer version.
Umbraco Cloud moves Umbraco 8 projects onto dedicated hosting on 24 February 2027 and stops hosting them on 24 February 2028, after which those sites stop working there. You can move to us before either date and keep the site running. See our Umbraco Cloud alternative page.
Umbraco 8 reached end of life on 24 February 2025, so the CMS itself gets no new security patches. We reduce the risk at the infrastructure layer with isolated application pools, a web application firewall, patched Windows servers and monitoring, and we will tell you plainly when an upgrade is the better answer.
No. Migration is free. We move your files, database and media, test the site with you and help with the DNS switch.
Umbraco 9 and later run on ASP.NET Core rather than .NET Framework, so moving on from Umbraco 8 is a migration rather than a package update: content and data come across, while templates and custom code need rework. We can scope and carry out the upgrade, and host the result on GreenStack.
